Personal Data Protection
Terms of Use for Client Applications and Information on Personal Data Protection
DNS PATROL client applications (hereinafter referred to as "Applications") are applications for mobile devices (Android and iOS) and laptops (Windows) that enable users to perform secure DNS translation even outside their organization's network.
The operation of the Application, including any processing of personal data, is provided by CZ.NIC, z.s.p.o., ID No. 67985726, with its registered office at Milešovská 1136/5, 130 00 Prague 3.
Please read the privacy policy carefully before using the Application. If you are under 15 years of age, inform your parents about the applications, including this Application, that you use on your mobile device and review the information below with them. Also, be sure to check the privacy policy and terms and conditions of the platform from which you are downloading the Application.
The DNS PATROL application is the client part of the DNS PATROL system operated by CZ.NIC, z.s.p.o., ID No. 67985726, with its registered office at Milešovská 1136/5, 130 00 Prague 3. The DNS PATROL system provides secure DNS translation for users within its organization.
The application can only be used after entering a registration code. The user receives the registration code from the administrator of the organization where they are employed, organized, or studying.
The application is not intended for the public and cannot be used without entering a registration code.
After entering the registration code, the application connects to the DNS PATROL service backend and receives a unique identifier, which is then included in the DNS PATROL service logs.
If the user activates the service in the Application (by pressing the "Start" button in the Application), the settings in the device will change so that all DNS queries are sent to the DNS PATROL system's DNS servers.
If the user deactivates the service in the Application, the DNS PATROL service will stop working and the system will use the normal settings on the device.
The Application does not send or store any personal data.
The DNS PATROL system, which ensures the secure translation of DNS queries, archives logs of all DNS queries from users of the DNS PATROL service.
Only the CZ.NIC z.s.p.o. association and the administrator of the organization where the user is employed, organized, or studying have access to the logs of all DNS queries from the DNS PATROL service.
Logs within the DNS PATROL service are archived for 2 years.
The logs are stored on servers operated by the CZ.NIC z.s.p.o. association exclusively in the Czech Republic and are not transferred to other countries outside the EU.
We do not transfer any data to third parties.
The protection of personal data is very important to us, so you can find more information about how we handle personal data in the document Zásady zpracování osobních údajů.
If you have any questions, whether about the protection of your data or about the Application itself, please do not hesitate to ask us – you can find our contact details at www.nic.cz or www.dnspatrol.cz.
